To realize the potential of technology, teachers need support in learning how to use it effectively. Continuous, just-in-time assistance that is job-embedded can foster teacher learning and change teacher knowledge and practices. A balanced, inclusive technology ecosystem dictates that professional learning offered to teachers should be collaborative and grounded in the day-to-day aspects of teaching with technology in diverse classrooms which may have students with specialized technology needs. Structured time for teachers to come together and discuss common issues around teaching with technology can be facilitated by communities of practice for job-embedded professional learning.
