Description
COVID-19 demanded that schools nationwide pivot to emergency remote learning, testing even the best laid technology plans. Integration challenges between assistive technology and educational technology that have long existed in LEAs were merely exacerbated by the crisis. OSEP established the Center on Inclusive Technology & Education Systems (CITES) in 2019 to help LEAs create synergized technology systems. In this session, CITES staff will share tools and processes beneficial for SWD learned through the work of our partner districts--tools that can be used both as schools adapt to subsequent waves of COVID and as the nation's educational system settles into a new post-pandemic normal.
Participants will be able to:
- Have increased understanding of practices and procedures that can be used to ensure access to education for SWD in blended, online, and emergency remote learning contexts.
- Have increased awareness of free resources and technical assistance available to districts, teachers, and parents in order to support diverse learners' success with digital learning and digital materials.
