Description

Are you an IT leader interested in ensuring the implementation of best practices so that all students have access to assistive technologies and accessible materials based on the individual learner's needs? A framework of evidence-based practices is in development by the Center on Inclusive Technology & Education Systems (CITES) to enhance the successful use of technology by all students. CITES' goal is to empower school districts to create and sustain inclusive technology systems that serve all students. A synergized, inclusive technology infrastructure will have a focus on accessibility across the selection, acquisition, and use of technology within all policies and programs. This session will provide an overview of critical inclusive considerations including device capacity, the management and interoperability of devices, the accessibility of technology tools and the security of such systems. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the self assessment and engage in dialogue and review accessible tools. FETC Workshops require an additional registration fee or premium registration. All workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) for hands on participation.
